TAMPA - Police are investigating the beating of a homeless man in Rowlett Park by about 10 to 15 youths.
Billy Wilson, 46, told Tampa police in a preliminary report that he was asleep in the park at 4201 E. Yukon St. about 4 p.m. Wednesday when 10 to 15 boys roughly 10 to 16 years old began beating him with their hands and feet. One removed money from his pocket, and they ran.
Wilson received minor injuries and refused medical treatment, police said.
Tampa police Officer Kristin Molina, an agency spokeswoman, said the beating does not appear related to any other beatings of homeless people.
